The Charlotte Bacon Act of Kindness Award

18 Jan

Charlotte Bacon was a beautiful little girl who loved the color pink, wanted to become a veterinarian, and loved Philip Phillips hit song.

Charlotte was one of the angels taken from us on December 14, 2012 at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut. In memory of their daughter, the Bacon Family has created the Charlotte Bacon Act of Kindness Award to honor their daughter. They have started an Act of Kindness Contest for children to participate in. Here is the mission from Charlotte’s father Joel:

“My family has appreciated so much, the many amazing acts of kindness, encouragement, love, support, and generosity (in so many different ways) that have and continue to be extended to us these recent and most difficult of days. We have heard from so many friends (old and new), neighbors, community members, and even strangers from not just our nation but from around the world. It is our hope to continue this mission to encourage others, be kind to others, spread love and hope to one another. The habits of good deeds, especially developed in children, will have an immensely powerful and positive influence in our future generations.”

The contest is open to children ages 18 and under. Here is the link to their site:
